How Aupply matches LinkedIn jobs to your resume

Aupply matches a LinkedIn job to your resume in two steps. First it drops jobs that clearly do not fit your stated limits. Then an AI reads the job description and scores how well the work fits your resume. It is resume job matching about the work, not about keywords.

What Aupply checks

Each job goes through these checks before an application is made. The first eight rows are rules that drop obvious misfits. The last row is the AI's judgment of the fit.

What Aupply checks on each LinkedIn job
What Aupply checksWhere it comes fromWhat happens
PlacesThe countries you apply in, and cities you would never takeA job in a place you ruled out is dropped.
Technology stackA stack you excluded in your preferencesA job that names it is dropped.
Years of experienceYour resumeA job that asks for more years than you have is dropped.
SeniorityYour resumeA job at a seniority far above yours is dropped.
Sponsorship and work rightsYour work rights for each country you apply inA job that does not offer sponsorship, where you need it, is dropped.
Citizenship or residenceYour country settingsA job open to citizens or residents only, where you are not one, is dropped.
PayYour lowest pay, per currencyA job with stated pay below your minimum, in the same currency, is dropped.
External application sitesThe posting itselfA posting that sends you to an outside application site is not applied to. A strong match is saved for you.
Fit of skills and experienceThe job description read by an AI, against your resume profile and preferencesThe AI scores the fit. Jobs at or above your minimum fit join the apply queue, the rest are skipped.

The eight rules run before scoring, so a job that clearly cannot work for you never reaches the AI.

Not keyword matching

The AI reads the job description's requirements in context: the skills it asks for, the years, the seniority, the location and remote scope, and sponsorship. It compares them with the skills and experience on your resume. Matching is about the work, not keyword overlap.

This is job description matching for one reader, you. Your preferences and resume profile decide what a good fit means.

The minimum fit

Jobs at or above your minimum fit join the apply queue. Jobs below it are skipped and recorded, so you can see on your dashboard what Aupply passed on. With no AI available, Aupply uses a deterministic score for the same decision.

What it does not consider

  • Employer names. Excluding companies is not supported yet.
  • Employment type. There is no employment type filter yet.
  • Jobs without Easy Apply. Aupply applies to LinkedIn Easy Apply jobs only, and saves strong matches for you to apply to by hand.
